Below you will find a list of companies attending our Spring Clean-Up as well as a list of acceptable/non-acceptable items:

The City of Calgary – (Waste & Organics)

Acceptable items:

Household waste, leaves, food waste, fruit peels, flower trimmings, any other biodegradable items.

Non-Acceptable items:

City packer trucks will NOT accept hazardous waste. Waste & Recycling management highly discourages Community Associations to collect hazardous waste items – if not safely handled and disposed, it can be very harmful. Here is a link with information and drop-off locations for residents:


Evraz Recycling – Navajo Metals

Prohibited items

Navajo will not accept and/or remove any scrap if it contains prohibited items/components listed below. Navajo prohibits and will refuse and eject:

  • Asbestos
  • Any light fixtures containing ballasts
  • Capacitors
  • Chemical-containing scrap
  • Electronic scrap containing printed circuit boards
  • Lead-containing scrap
  • Medical scrap
  • Mercury-containing scrap
  • Radioactive scrap
  • Sludge-containing scrap
  • Any gas bottles/cylinders/tanks.
  • Any scrap that contains disproportionate amounts of dirt/soil, rocks, woods, rubber, tires, general garbage, unattached plastic, paper and glass products, as well as other non-metallic materials.

Iron Mountain’s Secure Shredding services, you’ll be able to safely and cost effectively destroy unnecessary paper-based documents onsite.

Acceptable items

  • Clean paper, any colour
  • File folders, any colour
  • No need to remove any staple, paper clips or rubber bands

Non-Acceptable items

  • Cardboard

Cerebral Palsy – Life Without Limits

By donating clothes, cans & bottles, household items, small electronics or even your vehicle, you can help save our environment while creating a Life Without Limits for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Your donations to the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) will support and help fund valuable programs for persons with disabilities.
