What is Squirts Hockey?
Squirts hockey is an introductory learn to play hockey program. Not quite as fast paced as Timbits hockey, this is more geared to boys and girls who are too young to play Timbits but want to get all their gear on, hold a stick and learn to shoot a puck. It is also the perfect program for kids (and parents) who may not want to play hockey more than one time a week or may not want to play in a team environment at this point of their young careers.
What is the difference between Squirts and skating lessons?
There is nothing like learning to skate with all of the hockey gear on that the pros use! (a little extra padding sure feels better too!!)
The other difference is you (mom and dad) get to go on the ice with your little Squirt if he or she can’t stand up – it’s a great introduction to getting on the ice together!
And, if your little Squirt doesn’t need your help on the ice, you may sit in the stands and watch or you we could use your help to run a practice or ‘officiate’ a game of shinny!
Ages 4, 5 and 6 – all levels of skaters welcome!
As per Hockey Canada Guidelines: Hockey Skates, helmet with face mask, neck guard, shoulder and elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants, shin pads, hockey skates and stick!
Triwood Membership required to register: $30
Included in fee, skaters receive instruction (volunteer instructors), individual picture, team picture and practice jersey.
