This is a highly effective way of working around injury, pain, or reduced mobility. This class will help you restore postural alignment, correct muscle imbalances, increase mobility in the hips and shoulders, reduce pain and tension, and mobilize and strengthen the spinal column.

SAVANNAH WAGEMANS

Flow Yoga

- Mondays

Savannah’s initial journey with yoga began a little over twelve years ago when she first stepped into a formal yoga studio searching for a natural solution to persistent migraines and physical pain. At the time, both her and her mom were looking for a way to cope with migraines, and so they began their journey with yoga together. As Savannah became more consistent with her practice, she began to notice drastic reductions in her overall pain, and an increase in her sense of wellbeing. After attending regular practices and improving on her ability to perform sequences and poses, Savannah became focused on using her knowledge to help others with similar situations cope with physical pain and improve their overall quality of life. Savannah attended an immersive 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica, which enhanced and deepened both her practice, as well as her drive to help others. When she returned to Calgary, she began teaching yoga both with Triwood Community Association and with her own business. Savannah continues to strive to grow and develop in both her teaching and personal practice, and has since attended a Healing Yin Teacher Training, and hopes to continue to attend other trainings as well.

Cristina is a lifelong movement enthusiast.  She received her Fitness Instructor certification in her native country of Argentina and has been teaching and practicing all types of movement modalities ever since.
Her approach to mindful movement started 15 years ago through the Pilates method of movement.  It was then when she was able to connect her interest for proper body alignment with strength training.
Extensive practice on the Iyengar and Critical Alignment yoga tradition brought along what she felt was missing:  the use of breath to promote a sense of ease to movement.
Cristina is a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor for mat-work and a 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher and a 200hr Meditation Teacher. She has also completed multiple core conditioning and yoga related workshops and courses. Cristina infuses Pilates with multiple movement modalities certain that this blend nurtures body and mind.

SILVIA ILLIANO

Silvia started her personal yoga practice in 2010. At the beginning it was just another kind of physical activity, but little by little the practice deepened and she became aware of the peace of mind that every yoga class gifted her. This new mindfulness brought so many positive changes to her life that she became passionate about it and decided to widen her knowledge about Yoga, to be able to share it with other people.
Silvia got her first 200 hours yoga teacher certification at The Yoga Studio College in 2017. Then, she got her 300 hours certification at Back to Mobility, specializing in Postural Alignment Yoga Therapy. This last training gave her a deeper understanding of anatomy and biomechanics, which concepts she applies to all her classes.
The core of Silvia's classes is a balance between strength, flexibility, breathing and relaxation. She focuses on passing on this feeling of wellbeing to each student, with great respect for their individuality.
In her spare time, Silvia enjoys reading all kinds of books, spinning and fitness classes, skiing and going camping with her family.

CARRIE VERSFELD

My passion for movement and to motivate those around me is what drives me every day. I started going to a Boot Camp class when my youngest of 3 kids was 18 months and I've never looked back. It's a great place to meet people from the neighborhood who value physical & mental well-being. Working out with friends is not only fun, it's motivating and helps you meet your fitness goals. I enjoy hiking, biking and running but to stay strong and injury free strength training goes a long way to assist you in living your best and most active life.
