Volunteer at Triwood Community Association
Help make the heart of our community even stronger.
At Triwood, our vision is simple: to serve as the heart of our community. We’re home to everything from fitness and social clubs to soccer, pickleball, summer camps, and family events that bring neighbours together all year long.
While we have a small team of staff keeping things running day to day - managing the arena, JT’s Clubhouse, rentals, and programs — it’s our volunteers who bring it to life.
Why Volunteer?
Triwood’s biggest traditions wouldn’t happen without volunteers - events like the Stampede Breakfast, Community Christmas Dinner, Easter Egg Hunt, and summer markets are all powered by neighbours who pitch in and make them special.
When you volunteer at Triwood, you’ll:
-
Meet great people and feel connected to your community
-
Be part of local traditions families look forward to every year
-
Share your talents (or discover new ones!)
-
Help make Triwood an even more welcoming, vibrant place
Ways to Get Involved
There’s something for everyone — no matter your schedule or experience level:
Outdoor Rink Crew: Help maintain Triwood’s outdoor rinks so everyone can enjoy free skating all winter long.
Social Club Leads: Love connecting with people? Our social clubs like Tai Chi, Bridge, Military Whist, and the Trilighters seniors group are volunteer-led.
Event Helpers: Flip pancakes at the Stampede Breakfast, help at the Christmas Dinner buffet, or lend a hand at a community market — every bit counts!
Join the Triwood Beautification Committee!
Triwood is launching a new Beautification Committee, and we’re looking for community members to help shape our first exciting proposed project: a community mural on the exterior of our arena building.
Led by Triwood Community Association board member, local artist, and teacher Maria G Herrera, as well as Triwood Community Association’s Community Engagement Manager, Shivani Gibbs, this volunteer committee will focus on gathering community input to ensure the mural’s design reflects the stories, identity, communities, and spirit of Triwood.
The project will roll out in phases, starting with community ideas and concept development, followed by funding and, ultimately, bringing the mural to life. Along the way, the committee may also explore other opportunities to enhance and beautify our community. No artistic experience is needed. This role is about ideas, collaboration, and community connection.
Commitment:
-
One meeting per month
-
In-person at Triwood (evenings)
