This month, we shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of our 156 Community Associations (CAs) and the vital role they play in making Calgary such a wonderful place to live.

Led by dedicated volunteers, these organizations support nearly 200 neighbourhoods, connecting residents and giving them a voice in shaping their communities. From social gatherings and educational workshops to recreational programs, CAs bring opportunities for connection and enrichment right to our doorsteps.

With over 20,000 volunteers contributing countless hours each year, the impact of CAs is felt by every Calgarian. Mayor Jyoti Gondek has officially proclaimed March as Community Association Awareness Month, recognizing the invaluable programs, projects, and services that enhance neighbourhood life across our city.

Join your community association

Buying a Community Association Membership is a great way to meet neighbours, build connections and give back to your community. It's also a great way to access free or low-cost recreational, social and educational opportunities.

Attend an event or join a program

Community Associations provide their residents (and other Calgarians) with recreation, social and educational activities year-round, and even provide communities with amenities like community halls, outdoor rinks and community gardens. Support the vibrancy of your community by being part of it!

Volunteer in your community

Whether you join your Community Association board, become an event volunteer or simply shovel your neighbour’s sidewalk, bring your passion for community and volunteer! Being active in your Community Association strengthens connections between neighbours, increases safety, and improves the quality of life for everyone.
