Curious Quests Week (7) at Triwood Summer Camp

Updated: Aug 16, 2024

Campers new and returning are welcomed back, this time turning into ADVENTURERS for the week! From exciting treasure hunts to mind-bending puzzles to team challenges, our campers will navigate through a week filled with imaginative exploration, problem-solving, and teamwork.

On Monday, we worked on our treasure maps! We'll be literally choosing our own adventures this week.

Tuesday, the Minds in Motion folks come by to bring younger kids through a workshop on magnets! Harness the magnetic force of the earth by creating your own metal detector with

Micro:Bits. Participants follow along constructing a simple program with block coding,

then use their program to detect magnetic materials. We then use these materials to

create a take-home foosball style magnetic game!

Older kids will work on something called 'Guilty as Charged,' where kids will step into the shoes of a forensic scientist in this mystery-riddled workshop! Young scientists will unravel the truth of a crime using fingerprint profiling to catch the culprit. Through interactive activities and demonstrations, they'll explore the science of pH and chemicals used in real forensic analysis! This hands-on workshop will teach young learners all about chemistry and forensics, discovering just how real world professionals solve cases.

On Wednesday, the mobile escape room & table top puzzles are coming through in the afternoon! Excited to explore the submarine & pharaoh themed rooms, and board-game styled puzzles.

Thursday and Friday weren't great weather days so we stuck to indoor crafts and our local park, but we were able to burn off some energy playing Just Dance!!

We hope you have a great week with us!
