Summer Camp 2026: Week 6, Sports!

Week 6 of Triwood Summer Camp was all about sports, movement and getting creative! Even with some rainy weather throughout the week, our campers found plenty of ways to

have fun and stay active indoors.

On Tuesday, Minds in Motion from the University of Calgary returned with sports-themed science workshops. Younger campers designed and built their own working catapults, exploring potential and kinetic energy through a series of challenges. Older campers explored how Olympians measure performance, using circuits, speakers and sensors to create their own unique finish lines.

On Wednesday, campers got to try something new with both a dance cardio class and an Aussie Rules football intro class, giving everyone a chance to get moving and explore a new activity. We also burned off some extra energy with plenty of dancing indoors!

Rainy weather put a pause on our outdoor Sports Day plans on Thursday, but our counsellors quickly adapted and created a day of indoor games and activities instead. Campers also got creative with crafts, including designing their own board games, Olympic torches and building forts.

And when Friday brought more rain, we swapped our planned Splash Park Day for a cozy PJ Day and movie afternoon - a perfect way to wrap up a rainy week!
