Thank You for Making Our First Multicultural Fest a Celebration to Remember!

On Sunday, July 27, Triwood hosted our first-ever Multicultural Fest—a vibrant celebration of music, dance, art, and community inside our arena.

We are beyond grateful to the performers who lit up our stage with incredible talent and cultural richness:

  • Marite Rojas shared stunning Latin vocals

  • Zumba with Akiko got the crowd moving (catch her classes at Triwood starting this fall!)

  • Honey Sturdy wowed us with flamenco dance

  • Music by Dhanak brought us the sounds of Indian classical and fusion

  • The Edwards Factory Band closed the day with an energetic set

A special thank you to Henna Ranga, whose beautiful henna designs were a festival favourite!

We’re also so appreciative of our vendors, who offered everything from handmade goods to global treats—it was a joy to shop both locally and internationally.

Shout-out to the Youth Central volunteers, who helped make the day run smoothly with their energy and enthusiasm. And finally, thank you to everyone who joined us—your presence and spirit (even in the rain!) made this event a true success.

📸 A big thanks to Bumblebee Photography—thank you, Holly, for capturing the moments that made the day so special!

We’re proud to celebrate the diversity of our community and can’t wait for what’s next. Thank you for being part of it. 💛

We acknowledge that Triwood Community Association and surrounding communities are located on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Stoney-Nakoda peoples (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney First Nations). This is also home of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, Districts 5 and 6. As residents of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, we seek to live, work and play in ways that honour and respect the spirit of the treaties and the lives of our Indigenous neighbours.
