City of calgary - proposed rezoning

City Administration is proposing to change the Land Use for most low Density Inner City regions, including Triwood, to R-GC: Residential Grade-Oriented Infill District. Permitted uses for R-GC include Rowhouse Building and Contextual Semi-detached Dwellings. Discretionary uses include Single Detached Dwelling, Semi-detached Dwelling, Townhouse, Cottage Housing Cluster etc. R-GC is a newer, but existing Land Use in the current Bylaws.  More information can be found on the City website:

The City has set up information sessions for residents to voice their thoughts. Triwood Community Association is encouraging residents to participate in these sessions whether your opinion is either for, or against the amendment.

I encourage anyone from Triwood who is interested in expressing their opinions on this zoning change to go to one of these forums. Triwood Community Association has a committee that is looking at this topic and making recommendations to the TCA Board of Directors.
